Clay Ketter was born in 1967 in the USA and has been living in Sweden for over 20 years. He made a name for himself in the 1990s with his hybrid works using painting, building materials and photography. His work follows in the American abstract painting tradition as shaped by artists from Jackson Pollock to Robert Ryman. Ketter’s abstract surfaces, with their unexpected textures and a strange flatness, probe the strange beauty of building and demolition sites.
