Dan Flavin

Monument à Tatlin 1964-1984

Dan Flavin marked a turning point in the speculations of American Minimal Art. He introduced a new dimension to this aesthetic speculation, which was essentially based on translating phenomenology into aesthetic terms. He used light not as a definition of plastic space, but as a fundamental element of composition.
