
Born in 1974 in Mumbai, Jitish Kallat is one of the most promising artists of his generation. Jitish Kallat’s work, imbued with autobiographical, political and artistic references, forms a narrative of the cycle of life in a rapidly changing India. Weaving together strands of sociology, biology and archaeology, the artist takes an ironic and poetic look at the altered relationship between nature and culture.
Edith Devaney is the artistic Director of Malta International Contemporary Art Space (MICAS).
She was senior curator at the Royal Academy of Arts in London for over twenty years, where she was responsible for originating and curating many ambitious and groundbreaking exhibitions such as Jasper Johns: Something Resembling Truth (2017), also curating its tour to The Broad in Los Angeles; Abstract Expressionism (2016), also curating its tour to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao; and David Hockney: A Bigger Picture (2012), curating its tour to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the Museum Ludwig in Cologne.
Devaney left the Royal Academy in 2021 to manage the David Hockney Foundation and David Hockney Inc. in Los Angeles for two years.
An independent curator, Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel served as director of Lafayette Anticipations from 2019 to 2025, where she presented exhibitions by Martine Syms, Neil Beloufa, the group show Coming Soon, Issy Wood, Cyprien Gaillard (also at the Palais de Tokyo), Martin Margiela, Marguerite Humeau, and Jean-Marie Appriou. She is currently preparing a solo exhibition by Diego Marcon (2026).
In 2020, she served as chief curator of the Riga International Biennial, and suddenly it all blossoms, and directed the feature-length film based on the exhibition.
From 2011 to 2019, she was a curator at the Palais de Tokyo, where she presented, among others, the carte blanche exhibitions by Tomas Saraceno, ON AIR, and Tino Sehgal. She also presented exhibitions by Marguerite Humeau, Ed Atkins, Helen Marten, and David Douard, as well as the group exhibition Le bord des mondes.
She regularly collaborates with international institutions such as Art Explora, MoMA PS1, Nottingham Contemporary, the Stedelijk Museum, the Palais de Tokyo, and the Palace of Versailles.
Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel publishes regularly in French and international journals and catalogs and participates in seminars and juries in France and abroad.
