Chiharu Shiota signe l’œuvre inédite illustrant l’étiquette de Château Mouton Rothschild 2021, baptisée Universe of Mouton. Depuis 1945, les étiquettes de chaque millésime de Château Mouton Rothschild sont illustrées par des œuvres originales. Elles enrichissent année après année, une collection unique d’art contemporain qui réunit des artistes très différents et venant de tous les horizons.

Collaboration

Chiharu Shiota has created the original artwork Universe of Mouton for the label of Château Mouton Rothschild 2021. Since 1945, the labels for each vintage of Château Mouton Rothschild have been illustrated by an original artwork, adding year after year to the unique collection of contemporary art which brings together very different artists from many different backgrounds.

Dans le cadre de Moving Image Media Part, Iván Navarro présente son œuvre vidéo Silent Homeless Lamp sur un panneau publicitaire sur Sunset Boulevard à Los Angeles jusqu’au 31 janvier 2024. L’artiste utilise ce qui est devenu le symbole universel de l’éphémère – un chariot de supermarché – pour allégoriser notre complicité collective et l’épuisement des ressources qu’il faut pour s’attaquer à quelque chose qui, s’il avait été vu, aurait pu être évité.

As part of Moving Image Media Part, Iván Navarro is presenting his video work Silent Homeless Lamp on a billboard on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles until January 31, 2024. The artist uses what has become the universal symbol of transience – a shopping cart – to allegorize our collective complicity and the draining of resources that it requires to address something that, if seen, could have been prevented. Navarro’s cart persists, lit with a blinding white glow. A beacon of hope, a lamp, to light the way for all.

Le titre de l’exposition fait référence à la fois à la magie performative et à la “pensée magique” dans la culture d’aujourd’hui où règnent la désinformation, les théories du complot et les “faits alternatifs”.

The exhibition’s title refers both to performative magic and to the “magical thinking” in today’s culture rife with disinformation, conspiracy theories, and “alternative facts.”

L’exposition personnelle de Chiharu Shiota, The Soul Trembles, initialement curatée par Mami Kataoka au Mori Art Museum, à Tokyo, a voyagé à travers l’Asie-Pacifique depuis 2019 et est maintenant visible au Shenzhen Art Museum en Chine. Présentant des œuvres des 25 dernières années, y compris de multiples installations à grande échelle ainsi que des sculptures, des vidéos de performance, des photographies, des dessins et des séquences documentaires de différentes conceptions scéniques pour la danse et l’opéra.

Chiharu Shiota’s solo show The Soul Trembles first curated by Mami Kataoka at Mori Art Museum, in Tokyo has been traveling throughout Asia-Pacific since 2019 and has now arrived in Shenzhen Art Museum in China. Presenting works from the last 25 years, including multiple large-scale installations as well as sculptures, performance videos, photographs, drawings, and documentary footage of different stage designs for dance and opera.
