En hommage à l’artiste Belge, Hans Memling, le Brudgge Musea organise la toute première exposition à mettre en lumière son influence. Étant l’un des principaux peintres de l’époque Bourguignonne de Bruges, ses œuvres ont inspiré énormément d’artistes contemporains, y compris le peintre afro-américain Kehinde Wiley.

L’exposition Kehinde Wiley: Ship of Fools est organisée par The Box en partenariat avec The Arts Institute, University of Plymouth and Royal Museums Greenwich.Narrenschiff (Ship of Fools), 2017 de Kehinde Wiley est une projection de film numérique sur trois écrans qui produit une expérience immersive pour le spectateur. Le film dresse le portrait d’un groupe de jeunes hommes noirs en mer, luttant pour atteindre la terre – une métaphore des narrations historiques et contemporaines de migration et de dislocation sociale.

The exhibition Kehinde Wiley: Ship of Fools is curated by The Box in partnership with The Arts Institute, University of Plymouth and Royal Museums Greenwich. Narrenschiff (Ship of Fools), 2017 by Kehinde Wiley is a three-screen digital film projection that produces an immersive experience for the viewer. The film provides a portrait of a group of young black men at sea, struggling to reach the land – a metaphor for both historical and contemporary histories of migration and social dislocation.

Cette exposition s’attache à interroger le pouvoir subversif de l’anonymat qu’implique le principe « d’anti-portrait » incarné par la représentation « vue de dos ». L’exposition organisée par l’espace culturel Namurois, le Delta, pose un regard nouveau face à des phénomènes actuels tels que le « selfies » sur les réseaux sociaux, les dispositifs de surveillance par reconnaissance faciale, mais aussi, le très récent port du masque sanitaire venu redéfinir notre perception des espaces publics.

This exhibition seeks to question the subversive power of anonymity implied by the principle of “anti-portrait” embodied by the representation of someone from behind, “vue de dos”. The exhibition organized by the Namur cultural space, the Delta, takes a look at current phenomena such as “selfies” on social networks, facial recognition on surveillance devices, as well as the very recent wearing of a  sanitary mask, that has redefined our perception of public spaces.

Nous ramenant à des artistes modernistes tels que Raoul Hausmann, Luigi Russolo, Marinetti ou Kurt Schwitters, l’exposition comprend des œuvres d’António Dias, James Lee Byars, Bruce Nauman, Luisa Cunha, Joan Jonas, Gonçalo Barreiros, Michael Snow, Julião Sarmento, Juan Muñoz et Gavin Bryars, Ricardo Jacinto, entre autres.

The Invisible Show seeks to map these situations, based on the project with the same title presented by the curator Delfim Sardo in Spain and Israel, in 2007, only now in an enlarged version. Manifesta, la biennale européenne itinérante présente cet automne une nouvelle exposition, Real Utopias. Construite autour d’œuvres dont le fil rouge est l’imagination d’un lieu qui n’a pas encore été érigé, l’utopie – ū et tópos- est un lieu qui n’existe pas et où s’imaginent des mondes autres. Toutes ces constructions imaginaires participent d’une manière ou d’une autre à des projets de transformation de la réalité. Peintures, vidéo, dessins, œuvres multimedia et sculptures révèleront les aspirations communes et l’esprit expérimental des différentes générations d’artistes qui imaginent de nouvelles manières d’habiter l’espace, qu’il soit physique, imaginaire ou corporel.

The European Nomadic Biennal, Manifesta is presenting a new Fall exhibition:  Real Utopias.  Conceived around works that all focus on the imagination of a place that has not been constructed yet, utopia – is a place that does not exist, where other worlds are imagined. All these imaginary constructions participate in transforming the reality. Paintings, video, drawings, multimedia works and sculptures will reveal the common aspirations and experimental approach of different generations of artists who imagine new ways of occupying space, be it physical, imaginary or corporeal.

C’est la plus grande exposition de la collection de la Fondation jamais organisée.  Elle est composée de 228 pièces composées d’œuvres de 61 artistes portugais sélectionnés parmi les 1000 qui composent la collection. Feast Fury. Femina met à l’honneur la collection, évoque la dimension performative inhérente aux pratiques artistiques contemporaines et met en valeur la dimension féminine, exigeant un regard renouvelé sur l’histoire de l’art.

Extravagantes, hermétiques, sensuelles, les œuvres convoquent les survivances de cultures traditionnelles, mythiques ou magiques, invitent à sonder les états de conscience modifiés, les limites de nos perceptions sensorielles, les codes cachés de la nature et les lois encore indéchiffrables qui régissent le cosmos.

Abdelkader Benchamma takes part in the exhibition « UN AUTRE MONDE/// DANS NOTRE MONDE » held at the FRAC Nord-pas de Calais.The exhibition proposes to discover the fantastic realism, a major movement of the counterculture of the 1960s, through the works of contemporary artists who question the dominant knowledge and hybridize scientific and esoteric knowledge. Extravagant, hermetic, sensual, the works summon the survival of traditional, mythical or magical cultures. They invite to probe the altered states of consciousness, the limits of our sensory perceptions, the hidden codes of nature and the undecipherable laws that govern the cosmos.
