MUSEE GUIMET, PARIS, FRANCE Du 19/04/2017 au 18/09/2017
Pour sa quatrième Carte blanche confiée à un artiste contemporain, le MNAAG a choisi de sortir du cadre strict de la rotonde (4e étage) et d’exposer les sculptures de l’artiste plasticienne Prune Nourry dans un dialogue poétique avec les collections ; y prennent part quinze pièces historiques de la collection permanente du musée. Les oeuvres de Prune Nourry, présentées au sein d’un parcours guidé, offrent analogies visuelles et correspondances de sens, invitant le visiteur à participer à une véritable réflexion à travers le musée sur des problématiques quant le devenir de l’humanité. Nées d’un triptyque d’expériences asiatiques, ses créations – performances, sculptures, installations – illustrent dix ans de travail de l’artiste. L’itinéraire culmine sous le regard d’une création monumentale, un Bouddha fragmenté, ruiné, qui investit tous les étages du musée.

For its fourth Carte Blanche assigned to a contemporary artist, the MNAAG chose to go beyond the close environment of the Rotunda (4th floor) and show the visual artist Prune Nourry’s sculptures in a poetic dialogue with the collections. Fifteen historic pieces of the museum’s permanent collection share in it. Presented in a tour outlined in the folder, Prune Nourry’s worksoffer visual analogies and semantic correspondences, invitingthe visitor to participate throughout the museum in anauthentic reflection on the future of mankind. Arisen from atriptych of experiences in Asia, her creations – performances, sculptures, installations – illustrate ten years of the artist’s work. The tour culminates under the gaze of a monumentalcreation, a fragmented Buddha, in ruins, that takes over every floor of the museum.

A l’occasion de centenaire de la mort de Rodin, le musée des beaux-arts de Calais rend hommage au grand maître de la sculpture française, en consacrant une exposition à l’un des thèmes les plus populaires et célèbres de son œuvre : le Baiser ! A travers le regard d’artistes internationaux – parmi lesquels Rodin, Brancusi, Picasso, Le Corbusier, Jacques Monory, Ange Leccia, Douglas Gordon, Orlan, Pierre et Gilles…, et une diversité de médiums et de disciplines artistiques (peinture, sculpture, installation, bande dessinée, street art, cinéma, photographie, vidéo), l’exposition cherche à montrer l’évolution de ce thème dans l’art depuis la création du Baiser par Rodin en 1887. Les oeuvres viennent questionner l’image d’une nouvelle réalité et son expression communicative. Les artistes exposés ont en commun d’aborder le baiser avant tout comme un langage. Entre mythe et réalité, entre codes et protocoles d’hier, d’aujourd’hui et de demain, ils (re)pensent la relation à l’Autre.

Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Rodin’s death, the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Calais pays tribute to the great master of French sculpture with an exhibition focusing on the most famous theme of his work: The Kiss! Through the eyes of international artists – including Rodin, Brancusi, Picasso, Le Corbusier, Jacques Monory, Ange Leccia, Douglas Gordon, Orlan, Pierre et Gilles… and a diversity of media and artistic disciplines (painting, sculpture, installation, cartoon, street art, cinema, photography, video), the exhibition aims to show the evolution of this theme in art, since the creation of The Kiss by Rodin in 1887. The artworks question the image the image and expression of a new reality. The featured artists all approach The Kiss primarily as a language. Between myth and reality, between codes and protocols of yesterday, today and tomorrow, they (re)think the relation to the Other.

Murtaza Vali (Sharjah~Brooklyn based historian-curator-writer) will engage in a dialogue with Catherine David (Deputy Director, Musée National d’Art Moderne, Centre Pompidou) and Jitish Kallat (artist) regarding Here After Here a mid-career survey exhibition of Kallat’s work at National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi. Curated by Catherine David the exhibition brings together over 100 works across a time-frame of 25 years revealing the artist’s continual engagement with ideas of time, sustenance, recursion and historical recall., and his recurrent deliberations on the cosmopolis and the distant cosmos. The conversation will centre around the exhibition and two accompanying monographs, and how they collectively explore the many processes, themes and ideas that reappear throughout his artistic practice.

Le 9 mars 2017, l’Institut Culturel Bernard Magrez, haut lieu des arts et de la culture à Bordeaux,organise, au sein du Château Labottière, une grande exposition hommage à Daniel Templon. Avec près de 600 expositions et 250 artistes, Daniel Templon, galeriste français à la réputation mondiale, a toujours su donner la part belle aux avant-gardes artistiques. L’exposition est construite comme un portrait de Daniel Templon, pionner et figure majeure du monde de l’art, à travers cinq artistes phares de sa galerie, d’univers et d’horizons différents : Philippe Cognée, Jan Fabre, Pierre et Gilles, Yue Minjun et Chiharu Shiota.

The exhibition, portrays Daniel Templon, pioneer and major figure of the art world, featuring five major artists of his gallery, offering different artistic styles: Philippe Cognée, Jan Fabre, Pierre et Gilles, Yue Minjun and Chiharu Shiota.

From the presentation of a remarkable Sefer Yetsirah (“Book of Creation”) printed in Mantua in 1612 to the movie clip from Terminator 2, through works of Boris Aronson, Christian Boltanski, Gérard Garouste, Antony Gormley, Philip Guston, Amos Gitaï, R.B. Kitaj or Anselm Kiefer, the exhibition reveals how this medieval Jewish legend still effects today in a globalized imaginary world.

Le CIAC (Centre Interprétation Art et Culture) de Bourbourg en étroite collaboration avec Barford Sculptures Ltd de Londres, propose un parcours de découverte des oeuvres du sculpteur anglais Sir Anthony Caro et de l’artiste peintre anglaise Sheila Girling, épouse de l’artiste, dans divers lieux du Nord de la France Des pièces remarquables de ces deux artistes seront ainsi présentées au Musée des Augustins d’Hazebrouck et au musée Benoît De Puydt de Bailleul en regard des collections de ces deux lieux. Une exposition leur sera dédiée dans les différents espaces du CIAC accueil, salle du rez-de chaussée et salle du 1er étage) et des oeuvres entreront en dialogue avec le Choeur de lumière réalisée par Anthony Caro en 2008, dans l’église Saint Jean-Baptiste de Bourbourg.

CIAC (Interpretation Center Art and Culture) Bourbourg closely with Barford Sculptures Ltd. of London, offers a principle route to discover the works of British sculptor Sir Anthony Caro and the English painter Sheila Girling, also the wife of the artist in various places in the North of France.
Remarkable pieces of these two artists will be presented at the Augustins Museum of Hazebrouck and the Musée Benoît de Puydt in Bailleul within the museums collections. An exhibition will be dedicated to both Sir Caro and Sheila Girling in the different spaces of the CIAC Art center in Bourbourg – where some can resonate with the light Choir created by Anthony Caro in 2008, in the Saint John the Baptist church in the city.
