A nos côtés se sont réunis nos amis collectionneurs : Galila, Estelle et Hervé Francès ainsi qu’Alain Servais. Avec ces collectionneurs d’art contemporain, un amateur éclairé d’Arts Premiers nous fait l’honneur de se joindre à nous. Grâce aux oeuvres de notre artiste invité, Kendell Geers, un lien invisible mais essentiel s’est créé tout le long de l’accrochage. Alain Mallart et Marcel Croës, liés par une grande complicité, ont choisi dans une partition « à quatre mains » les textes qui illustrent les oeuvres. (…)

We have gathered by our side our friends and collectors Galila, Estelle and Hervé Francès, and Alain Servais. Along these contemporary art collectors, a primitive arts collector has joined us. The works of our guest artist, Kendell Geers, create an invisible yet essential guiding thread throughout the exhibit. Du 17 janvier au 2 février 2013 L’association « Spiritualité et Art » organise du 17 janvier au 2 février 2013, une exposition intitulée L’art au défi de l’espérance à la Mairie du 6e arrondissement de Paris. Cet événement est le fruit de deux ans de recherche de dix-neuf artistes plasticiens, qui se sont concentrés autour du Livre de Job. Présent dans les trois religions monothéistes, Job apparaît comme un personnage à la fois universel et énigmatique, figure de l’homme qui reste dans la lumière malgré les épreuves qui lui sont infligées. Véritable panorama de la création actuelle, d’une grande diversité formelle et technique, l’exposition révèle la profonde richesse d’interprétation du mythe. Dans un contexte marqué par la crise, elle dévoile l’engagement sans faille de ces artistes de sensibilités et d’horizons différents pour porter une pulsion d’espoir au cœur de la société. (…)

La série “Nowhere Man”, montrée ici dans son intégralité pour la première fois dans un musée américain, prend pour point de départ et transforme les pictogrammes iconiques créés originellement par Otl Aicher pour les Jeux Olympiques de 1972. Les sculptures d’Ivan Navarro se sont développées à partir d’une exploration minutieuse de la lumière et des matériaux électriques, mais également par son intérêt profond à enrichir le dialogue avec des artistes modernes et contemporains, des designers, des architectes et des musiciens qui contribuèrent de manière significative à l’histoire de l’art. “Fluorescent Light Sculptures” présente sur trois étages, quatorze sculptures et trois vidéos qui mettent en lumière les différents thèmes de son art transdisciplinaire sur plus d’une décennie. Les vidéos sont aussi importantes dans l’art de Navarro que ses sculptures : les trois vidéos diffusées illustrent la portée conceptuelle et les interrogations formelles de l’artiste.  Commissaire d’exposition : Julia P. From November 17th to January 27th 2013 Iván Navarro’s light sculptures have evolved from his extensive exploration of light and electrical materials, together with a profound interest in enriching a dialogue with modern and contemporary artists, designers, architects, and musicians who have made significant contributions to art history. Fluorescent Light Sculptures features three floor sculptures, fourteen wall sculptures, and three videos that illuminate the thematic directions of his multilayered practice over a decade. The Nowhere Man series, shown here in its entirety for the first time in a museum in the US, engages and transforms the iconic pictograms originally created by Otl Aicher for the 1972 Olympics. Videos are as important to Navarro’s practice as are his sculptures: the three videos on view illustrate the artist’s conceptual and formal reach. Curated by Julia P. Herzberg. (…)
